The Moroccan Handira is hand-woven in pure wool by Berber women of the Middle Atlas Mountains. The traditional Moroccan handira is generally white or cream, and then decorated with small coins or silver sequins. They have a history, a life. In some areas, the fabric is dyed red with plant material and has geometric patterns and wide vertical strips of cotton are integrated.
Each one is unique in design and decorated with bushy tufted rows of wool and numerous sequins. A tradition that has now become an art form, these bohemian beauties look wonderful used as blankets, wall hangings or rugs.
